We are located in the heart of Oregon Wine Country, just outside Carlton, Dundee and McMinnville. Although we are officially in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Domaine Serene, for example, located in the Dundee Hills AVA, is visible from our tasting room and vineyard.
The Yamhill-Carlton AVA, a sub-appellation of the larger Willamette Valley AVA, is growing and maturing, mostly known for its Pinot noir and Chardonnay. Come join us at the vineyard for our Wine Club events or nearby events within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA or part of the wider Oregon wine community. Cheers!
Pinot 2023 Reserve Release, Fri-Sun, 3/21-3/23/25: We're celebrating Spring with the release of our barrel aged 2023 Pinot noir Reserve! Join us this weekend to be the first to taste our latest Yamhill-Carlton AVA offering from Black Dog Vineyard. We're also switching over to our Spring menu so will have a new line up for wines in our PNW Explorer, Estate and Signature tastings.
Spring Pick-Up Party at Bend Wine Bar, Saturday 3/22/25, 5 - 9 pm: Join us at our Central Oregon tasting room, The Bend Wine Bar, located at the Box Factory near the Old Mill District, for a Spring Evening of deliciousness with Chef Violet Robles. Violet is a classically trained Cordon Bleu graduate, long-time restauranter and also the manager of The Bend Wine Bar. Her courses will be expertly paired with our Spring Release for the Woof Pack and the recipes will accompany the wines. Yamhill-Carlton AVA Spring Tasting, 5/3/25, 10 am - 5 pm: Join us for our 20th Anniversary Spring Tasting! This annual event showcases over 35 Yamhill-Carlton wineries alongside bites prepared by the incredible chefs at Abbey Road Farm. Enjoy wines from participating wineries such as Black Dog Vineyard (The Winery at Manzanita), Belle Pente Vineyard and Winery, Elk Cove Vineyards, Ken Wright Cellars, and Willakenzie Estate. Yamhill-Carlton is known for producing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and wineries will be pouring other varieties as well, including Riesling, Pinot Gris, and many styles of sparkling wines, showcasing the wealth of variety in the region. If you taste something you love, you can purchase wine directly from the producer at this event, including wines that are hard to come by otherwise. Regular admission includes all the wineries, and delicious bites including a charcuterie platter, pea & ricotta dumplings, mini BLTs, shrimp cocktails and delicious carrot falafel. Summer Kick-off Party at the Vineyard, 6/7/25, 5 - 8 pm: Join us at Black Dog Vineyard for our Summer Kickoff! We are setting up wine tasting stations in the vineyard to create a hike through the vines with your canine friend. Afterwards we'll grill up some dogs with the dogs as we watch the sun set and listen to live music. We'll have all the fixins for them dogs too! Summer Solstice Party at MNW, Saturday, 6/21/25, 5 - 9 pm: Join us in Northwest Portland at Manzanita NW, our winery tasting room in beautiful Slabtown. We're kicking off the summer season with music, a food truck and of course pours of our favorite summer wines. Our White Pinot noir has gained fame as the porch pounder in the Summer for it's easy drinking nature, while crisp Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc satisfy in the heat. Or try our chilled Pinot noir rose and Pinot gris! We opened Manzanita NW in August of 2022, so if you haven't been here yet, now's a good time to get that stamp in your passport for this location. Fall Harvest Party, Saturday, 9/20/25, 5 - 9 pm: Celebrate Fall with us at the vineyard as we bring in the harvest and welcome you to spend an extra special night at the vineyard. We'll have food, wine and music flowing all night and an opportunity to camp overnight with us at the vineyard. Free for Woof Pack Wine Club members and $120/person for non-members. Includes first glass of wine, food and camping access. Limited camping space available. Pick-ups for the quarter will be available for wine club members at this event. Star Party with Carlton Observatory, 10/4/25, 6 - 10 pm: Enjoy an evening under the stars with the Carlton Observatory at Black Dog Vineyard. Expert astronomers will lead us through the moon, planets, stars, galaxies and nebulae as we enjoy food and wine provided by Black Dog Vineyard and The Winery at Manzanita. Telescopes provided but you’re welcome to bring your own as well. RSVP required. $85 per person.
Winter Solstice Party at The Winery at Manzanita, 12/20/25, 5-8 pm: Join us for wine and appetizers at our Winter Woof Club wine pick-up for the quarter. Open to the public and Santa may make an appearance as well! As always, first glass of wine is on us for Woof Wine Club members, as well as an opportunity to taste this quarter’s pick-up before taking them home.
